After thoughtful consideration, we are closing down the Styrofoam recycling site for the winter. We are not throwing in the towel, but have to retool the program to accommodate the vast amount of foam collected and attracting a group of volunteers.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the American Legion for their invaluable partnership in hosting the site. Despite our repeated warnings against the improper disposal of foam when the site is unoccupied, instances of “fly dumping" persist. Foam containers are then frequently wind blown throughout the parking lot and into the street.
At this time we are waiting for the trailer to be emptied and stored off-site. We appreciate everyone's understanding as we align drop-off need with service delivery.
