Last day to file nomination petitions with the local election official. 

November 25, 2024  Last Day to File Objections to Nomination Papers 

Last day to file objections to nomination papers of independent, new party, and non-partisan candidates in the office of the local election official. 

December 30, 2024  Last Day to File Petitions for Public Questions
Last day to file petitions with the local election official for the submission of questions of public policy.  Exceptions to this date apply for various binding questions or backdoor referenda.


Signature Requirement for Candidates for Lake Zurich Board of Trustees for the April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election

The minimum signature requirement(s) for a new political party slate in Lake Zurich for the April 1, 2025 Consolidated Election is “not less than 5% of the total number of persons who voted in the last regular election” in Lake Zurich.

For individual, independent candidates for the board, the minimum signature requirement for a candidate is “not less than 5% nor more than 8% (or 50 more than the minimum, whichever is greater) of the number of persons who voted at the last regular election” in Lake Zurich.
