National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.) is observed on Friday, January 9. This day we recognize our officers for the important and sometimes challenging careers they have chosen. We all depend on law enforcement to protect people from crime and violence. Our first responders ensure public safety, address incidents involving domestic violence, substance misuse disorders, and mental health challenges. We also rely on law enforcement professionals to investigate crime carefully and thoroughly and to uncover and track down those that victimize the vulnerable.
On January 9, we urge our community members to pause and acknowledge these challenges while extending our unwavering support to those who dedicate their lives to serving and safeguarding our society. We extend our sincere gratitude to the dedicated men and women of the Lake Zurich Police Department for their unwavering commitment to upholding the rule of law each day.
