If approved by the Village Board in September 2024, residents and businesses would save money on future water bills. Everything you need to know about Lake Zurich’s Non Home Rule Sales Tax increase is provided below. 

The Village in March made the big decision to bring Lake Michigan water to Lake Zurich, a project that will benefit the entire community for years to come. To defray the cost of water system improvement and reduce future water rate increases, the Village is recommending a small increase in the local sales tax — from 0.5% to 1%. 

These FAQs provide insight into the reasons and benefits supporting the local sales tax change to help pay for Lake Michigan water.

Thursday, March 13, 2025 Public Hearing for Lake Michigan Water

This Notice is to provide access to the documents and to satisfy the Illinois Procedures for Issuing Loans from the Public Water Supply Program from the Illinois EPA. These documents will also be on file at Village Hall for 10 days after the Public Hearing to allow for public comment.
