The Technical Rescue Team is comprised of several different areas:
High Elevation Team
This team is trained to rescue people from high areas such as water towers, multi story buildings, and the like.
Confined Space Technicians
These technicians are trained to enter and work in confined spaces, i.e.: wells, pits, tanks, etc.
Trench Rescue Technicians
This team is trained to handle emergencies involving cave-ins or tunnels. With the construction we have in the area, (sewer, water, and trenches) this team has seen activity. Again, refresher training is conducted on a regular basis.
Structural Collapse Technicians
This team is trained to handle emergencies involving the collapse of structures.
Each of the four teams listed above involves a 40+ hour class to get certified, plus some additional rope rescue courses.
Currently the department has 9 members assigned to the County Tech. Rescue Team.
