Dine • Dance • Rediscover Downtown

The Village of Lake Zurich will host its 2nd annual downtown block party, Rock The Block, on September 13, 2014 from 5 - 11 P.M.  Planned as an all-ages traditional street dance, partygoers are invited to Dine, Dance and (re)discover downtown Lake Zurich. Three live bands take the stage for an evening of music, food and fun, and young party goers can visit the face painter and balloon art, sponsored by Lake Zurich Tire and Auto.

The event will be held on Main Street in downtown Lake Zurich, (approximately 70 E. Main Street) and Main Street will be closed from Church Street to Old Rand beginning at 3 P.M. on the day of the event.  Lake Zurich Mayor Tom Poynton, Village Trustees and staff, local community leaders, and the public will attend.

This event is the Village of Lake Zurich’s second effort to sponsor a large scale downtown event and planning for this event has been a community effort.  The Rock The Block task force, headed by Park Manager Bonnie Caputo, is comprised of representatives from local service organizations and business owners.
