Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County
The Village of Lake Zurich is a member agency of the Special Recreation Association of Central Lake County. The association provides therapeutic recreation programs and services to people of all ages with disabilities or special needs. SRACLC is a cooperative effort of the Grayslake, Mundelein, and Vernon Hills Park Districts and the Villages of Hawthorne Woods, Lincolnshire, Libertyville, and Lake Zurich. Individuals residing within the boundaries to the Member Agencies are considered “residents” of SRACLC and may take advantage of the specialized leisure services available, inclusion assistance with the Village of Lake Zurich will also be provided by SRACLC.
SRACLC program areas range from cultural arts, sports, adaptive sports, Special Olympics, special events, and day camps. SRACLC recognizes that some people with disabilities prefer to participate in recreation programs within their own Park District or Recreation Department. SRACLC can help you with this opportunity by providing support in the form of extra staff, if deemed necessary, sign language interpreters, behavior management support, disability awareness training, and other adaptive services necessary for safe and successful participation.
Please contact the SRACLC office if you do not currently receive a brochure, or wish to be placed on the mailing list.
